Former assassin and revolutionary, Rina Seiko, has been summoned by Empress Eboshi to investigate a strange cataclysm: an island has fallen from the sky into the bottomless blue.

The resurgence of Arcane Golems; constructs designed to protect the royal family in times of crisis, and the sudden loss of magic leads Eboshi to conclude that the skystones are involved. Skystones, ancient relics of the Fox Goddess' Ametaru's creation, are the cornerstones in maintaining the bouyancy of the isles. Rina is given an official order to retrieve these relics, by force if necessary...

As fear and uncertainty grips the skydoms, an old foe from fifteen years past; the Staten Union, plots their revenge. Goran Rast, a man who firmly believes in strength and nothing more, leads a flotilla of Ebon Skycruisers into the Eastern skydom of Ezo, carrying out his plans for the ultimate unification.

But in the shadows, something far more sinister lurks, a plan that has been in the making for 25,000 years...

Veiled Skies' world and lore is heavily inspired by Japanese history (mainly the Bakumatsu period that lasted between 1853-1867), kitsune mythology plus a healthy dose of kemonomimi (human characters with animal ears and tails). VS has races such as the Kitsu (fox), the Lupo (wolf), Rai (lion) and Bunyon (rabbit).

Weave together your abilities and unleash devastation upon your foes. But full out offence isn't the only way to use VS's Combo-system! Rack up your Combo Points (CP) by guarding, then unleash up to FOUR actions in a single turn!
